Culinary Experience and Picnic in a Park
The “Culinary Experience and Picnic in a Park” tour will take you to places able to offer a broad image of the local food culture and habits, as well as of the historical influences that have imprinted many of the traditional dishes.
A food tour is not just about food, it also reveals places and people. Eating is something intimate, while cooking is art, and when intimacy and art get together, the result can be nothing else but alluring.
In addition to the enticing of your taste buds, you will have the chance to pass by some of the most beautiful houses in Bucharest, in a cosmopolitan district which is located along the itinerary. If time allows (depending on the traffic), we can stop in that district and have a short walk.
And I will love to offer you even more, some recommendations about special food and drink places that worth a visit. As mentioned in the introductory section, please be sure the recommendations do not hide barters or other type of agreements!
Duration: 5 – 5.5 hours
Starting time: between 10:00am-12:00pm
Availability: Each day, from Monday to Sunday During the cold season, the meal will take place inside the green market
Physical demand: Light (the tour at the Village Museum has about 1-1.5 km)
What you will see and taste along the “Culinary Experience and Picnic at the Museum” tour
- Our first stop will be at one of the largest green markets in Bucharest, where your senses will be spoiled by the richness of colors, smells and tastes; fruits, vegetables, meat and dairy delicatessen.
- Then we go to the Village Museum, where we’ll have a tour, and then picnic in a beautiful park. The museum accommodates a large collection of authentic peasant houses brought from all Romania’s regions and it is located in the same park where the picnic lunch takes place
Note: during the cold season (approx. beginning of November to the end of March), the picnic lunch takes place at the green market.. Of course, if weather allows it, the picnic may take place outdoors during November and March too.

- This tour is available for a group of minimum 2 persons, but please feel free to ask for the price for one person.
- Prices in the table above include guiding in the Village Museum, the picnic (meats, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, bread, Romanian wine or beer, water)
- Entrance to the Village Museum is a separate cost: 8 euro / person (children, students and retired people benefit from lower prices
- If there are children in the group, price will be discussed on a case-by-case basis (taking into account their number and age)
